Fundraising Campaigns
Project Lazarus offers sponsors an opportunity to actively invest in the financial planning of the organization through our fundraising campaigns, a large part of which is made up of “Giving Season.” Giving season, which spans Giving Tuesday, #iGiveCatholic Day, and the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, raises funding that critically defines Project Lazarus programming, development, and outreach for the upcoming year. This sponsor engagement opportunity helps navigate the direction of future projects.
Annually, we offer our supporters the option to engage in ways that their organizations and teams are most aligned. This ranges from employee giving programs, to matching gifts to pledges, to annual volunteer commitments, to grants and beyond.
Our leadership team is committed to community collaboration and is open to creating involvement packages that benefit our supporters the most.
Giving Tuesday Campaign
Giving Tuesday is a powerful way for Project Lazarus to both raise critical support and expand awareness of our work. On this global day of generosity, we invite the community to learn how supportive housing, comprehensive HIV care, substance use support, and personalized coaching come together to create stability and healing.
Giving Tuesday allows us to introduce new supporters to the impact Project Lazarus has across the Gulf South and beyond, serving as a trusted resource for individuals living with HIV and our care partners, ensuring that our work is coordinated to create a greater quality of life for all.
Every gift helps sustain our programs, and every story shared helps build understanding, compassion, and long-term community investment.
Give NOLA Day
GiveNOLA Day is a 24-hour, community-wide day of giving that unites people across the region in support of local nonprofits. Gifts made during GiveNOLA strengthen our ability to plan responsibly, respond to urgent needs, and extend our impact across New Orleans and throughout Louisiana, ensuring care remains consistent and accessible for the communities we serve.
#iGiveCatholic Campaign
On #iGive Catholic Day each year, we lift up a mission over four decades in the making: one shaped by faith, compassion, and the enduring call to care for our most vulnerable neighbors.
Project Lazarus was founded in 1985 by Fr. Bob Pawell and Fr. Paul Desrosiers, in partnership with the Archdiocese of New Orleans, in response to the HIV/AIDS crisis. What began as an expression of Catholic mercy — offering hospice and dignity to those who had nowhere else to turn — has grown into a ministry of housing, wellness, and healing for all people living with HIV across our city and state.
Participating in #iGive Catholic strengthens this legacy. It allows our community of faith to come together in a powerful, collective way, ensuring Project Lazarus can continue providing stable housing, life-sustaining services, and compassionate care to those who are too often overlooked. Every gift made through iGive Catholic helps sustain a ministry rooted in love and hope, for generations to come.
Thanksgiving Resident Meals
At Project Lazarus, we believe everyone deserves a warm meal and a welcoming space, especially during the holidays, which can be a stressful and isolating time for many. Each year, we treat our residents to a Thanksgiving feast, served in a communal setting alongside the staff who care for them every day. You can help us keep this tradition alive by donating food or contributing financially, ensuring that our residents continue to enjoy this special celebration year after year.

Christmas Gifts for Residents
Each year, we make the season brighter for our residents by providing gifts that bring comfort and cheer. You can join our campaign for joy by donating new, unopened presents or by contributing financially, which allows our staff to select thoughtful gifts for each resident. Your generosity ensures that every person in our care experiences the warmth and celebration of the holidays.
