Development Manager
Position Summary
Manages all aspects of fundraising campaigns, special events, donor relations, development operations, communications, and marketing for Project Lazarus.

Core Responsibilities
DONOR RELATIONS
- Plan, organize, direct all aspects of fundraising, including but not limited to annual giving, donor stewardship, donor prospecting, community events, planned giving, online giving, direct mail campaigns, corporate giving, and major giving.
- Manage donor databases and event systems ensuring accurate data input, donor acknowledgement, tax letter processing, and general reporting.
- Research and generate proposals to private sector funding prospects including foundations, corporations, and individuals.
- Manage all aspects of annual giving campaigns, including GiveNOLA Day, Giving Tuesday (I Give Catholic) and the year-end annual appeal.
- Develop, manage and report on fundraising goals and budgets.
- Prepare monthly progress reports for the board of directors.
- Promote, recruit, manage and steward Red Door Society (Legacy Group).
EVENTS
- Manage all aspects of Project Lazarus annual fundraising and community events.
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to: committee management, sponsorship strategy and solicitation, ticket sales, vendor/supplier management, event production and management, managing the budget and expenses, volunteer recruitment and supervision, marketing and communications, in-kind donations solicitation, and additional responsibilities as needed.
- Manage all logistics of events including set-up, tear down and follow-up processes.
- Promote the mission of Project Lazarus by participating in various speaking engagements, media opportunities and community events throughout the year.
COMMUNICATIONS
- Plan, design, and produce external communications, including but not limited to: monthly e-newsletter, direct mail campaigns, online giving campaigns, social media, informational brochures.
- Advance the mission of Project Lazarus through donor outreach and communication.
- Responsible for generating and maintaining a collection of photos and participant success stories for external use.
- Maintain and update the agency’s website regularly.
Essential Skills
- Commitment to the mission of Project Lazarus
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 3-5 years of development experience
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Time management skills, ability to meet tight deadlines and complete multiple job duties.
- Proficient with CRM systems (Project Lazarus uses Bloomerang), email marketing and social media platforms.
- Excellent computer skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Experience in WordPress and website management.
- Experience in planning, producing, and managing events and auctions preferred.
- Demonstrated success soliciting and closing gifts of at least $10,000 preferred.
Physical Demands
- Extended periods of standing and sitting.
- The ability to lift 30 -35 lbs. as needed.
- Extended periods of computer use.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive agency vehicles.
- Some weekends/evenings and late nights for special events.
Compensation
$60-70K based on experience
