About Project Lazarus
Founded in 1985, Project Lazarus is the oldest and largest agency providing transitional housing and support services to people who are living with HIV/AIDS and experience homelessness. Our commitment is to house, heal, empower, and support members of our community so that they can live in the Positive.
Project Lazarus provides transitional housing designed for people living with HIV/AIDS, and prepares participants for successful, healthy, and independent lives.
Project Lazarus is a place to heal – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Our wrap-around services address the unique challenges faced by our residents.
Our programs build self-esteem and confidence, life and social skills, and, most importantly, the ability to achieve physical and emotional well-being.
We provide transitional housing, nutritious meals, case management, counseling, resources, and the comforts and security of a safe and welcoming home.
I can be myself and I learn something new every day. I’ve realized that I’ve spent a lot of my life hiding. Being gay, black, and HIV positive, it’s hard to feel safe opening up. Project Lazarus is a safe space where I can grow and heal. - Current Resident
